Description:

This class will explore how color, texture and reflective value affect the look of a yarn with emphasis on the choice and use of hand painted rovings.  Students will learn several methods of spinning a roving to produce a number of distinctly differing yarns using a single hand painted roving. Methods may include singles, novelty yarns, and multiple color plying.

Level: 

Advanced Beginner – student must be able to spin a continuous yarn and understand the workings of the wheel that they will use in class.

Materials Fee: $15


Students Should Bring:
  • hand cards,flickers, and fiber combs if they have them.
  • Note taking materials and labeling materials may be needed.
