Learn to enjoy the pleasures of gathering flowers and plants to be used for the purpose of dyeing yarns and fabrics. We will simmer the plant materials to the desired shades and submerge fibers into the dye bath.  Go home with a sample booklet of the papers, fabric, and fibers that we dyed in class. This will be the beginning of your reference book for producing natural dyes in the future.

Students Should Bring:
  • Students should wear old cloths and bring rubber gloves
  • Collect one grocery bag full of collect plant material such as, for example: sage, rabbit brush, onion skins, flowers, or just about any plant
